Emergency! There is an emergency in this piece. Environmental emergencies made to be heard through uneasy sonic intersections riddled with palpable tensions. Urgency to listen to the traces of dying worlds because this silencing of the living is paradoxically done with great noise! This multichannel sound concert follows an express immersion in Tres Fronteras, between Colombia, Peru and Brazil and offers a tense spatialized listening on the surface of a Peruvian lake, the powerful cries of howler monkeys, or barbed wire agitated by the wind.

Amazonas PhoNosynthesis was created in several forms:
— Two multiphonic live performances:
• The first, a frontal performance: The artist plays and manipulates the sound in real time, at the heart of an octophonic system with four powerful speakers (classic quadraphony) surrounding the audience and four small, movable loudspeakers placed in the control booth and on the floor. Lasting 40 minutes, this version requires a homogeneous quadraphonic system and a subwoofer.
• The second, with eyes closed: Deckchairs or chairs are arranged around a central control booth placed at the center of the stage (either a performance stage or a public square). The sound is broadcast in a "cube" setup, with quadraphonic sound at ear level and stereo speakers positioned overhead, either suspended from the ceiling (grid), elevated on telescopic stands, or hung from trees or balconies. Lasting 40 minutes, this version requires a homogeneous hexaphonic system reinforced with a subwoofer.
— A sound nap, broadcast through noise-canceling headphones, offering a fully immersive experience while comfortably seated on our or your deckchairs. This setup operates in complete energy autonomy on-site.
Commissioned by Auditum for the Semana de la Escucha (Medellín), Amazonas PhoNosynthesis was originally created under the title Fronteras de la Escucha in July 2019. It was presented at the Planetario de Medellín in August 2019, then reimagined as a sound nap in October 2019 in Besançon at the Modulations festival, and later performed in May 2022 at the Jardin des Plantes of the National Museum of Natural History (Paris), as well as in 2023 at the Sonic Narrative festival during Timișoara 2023.
In its two live spatialized formats, Amazonas PhoNosynthesis premiered in February 2020 at Cube – Center for Digital Creation (Issy-les-Moulineaux) and DAda (Toulouse). It was performed live in September 2021 at the Rien à Voir festival (Monestiés), then at the The Desire for Beautiful Radio Today: Documentary conference at Montpellier III, at the Sound Portraits of Countries conference at Qo2 (Brussels), and finally in August 2023 as the closing event of the Manufacture d'Idées (Hurigny).
