This meta-device aims to auscultate any type of architectural space in order to share a collective experience of listening to the boundaries of sound performance, installation, and soundwalks within the walls. The public is invited to explore the space through various attention modalities for a sensitive reappropriation of spaces through experiences revealing an audible architecture. The desire here is to come and listen to this built environment as one might want to listen to a river, a street or a forest, with walls added!

I love nothing more than listening
and sharing sounds in the great outdoors.
I enjoy freely roaming open spaces
with my eyes and ears,
these ears which also have ear-eyes.
Setting out to explore a territory on foot,
to walk and take my ears (and a public's)
to every nook and cranny of the landscape,
to seek out specific listening points,
the unheard-of,
or simply to capture the banality
and its trivial poetics in unexpected dimensions,
because they are still unheard,
or simply given to be heard,
differently.
Yet here, I would like to come and listen to a closed space,
a building, its constituent elements, its structure.
To offer a performed installation.
A concert of spaces giving sound
to a moving audience,
the native - or reinvented - acoustics
of a place conceived as much as a landscape
as an instrument
as a collaborator
with whom I would improvise in a duet,
with it alone,
and entirely at its listening.
Listening to this architecture
as one would listen to any open sound environment,
with walls included...
Envisioning these walls as surfaces that,
instead of imprisoning sounds,
are there only to let them breathe,
resonate, and reverberate.
In order to reveal the (almost) silences
that reside within, sheltered.
And
since there is no wall that is not porous,
open to the outside, beyond its function,
listening through them,
to the vibrations of a world
that presents itself
-always-
to be heard
behind,
through,
beyond the walls.
Making audible the organicity,
sonic vitality,
and vibrancy of the building which,
like any larger ecosystem,
is inhabited by numerous species in conflict,
in symbiosis, in equilibrium:
flows,
fluids,
currents,
waves,
bodies,
materials...
In a play of framing
and re-framing,
of perspectives
and overturning of perspectives,
through the tracing of new lines of escape
but also the opening onto invisible horizons,
gradually revealing this place
as a landscape:
an architectural sound landscape.
Then, recomposing this landscape
through the resonances,
the escapes offered by the different rooms,
in their succession,
their superposition,
their proximity,
their distance.
Ultimately, our aim could be summarized as
deconstructing this edifice
through a novel sound plan:
a sound archi_texture.
