ATOM has been specially designed for immersive stereoscopic spaces. They offer and open up unprecedented creative possibilities, quite different from traditional immersive spaces. 3D immersion is a total and unique experience, still little known to the general public outside that offered by VR headsets or a few planetariums with a scientific or educational vocation

To invest these new spaces, Yann Nguema has chosen to explore little-known mathematical figures that are relatively difficult to grasp due to their complexity on standard monoscopic screens: 4D polytopes. As well as being a fascinating mathematical curiosity, they benefit from an extra dimension that lends harmony, singularity and elegance to their various representations. With a highly affirm and elaborate aesthetic, this project also focuses on the distortion of movement, time and space that is impossible to imagine in our everyday reality, but which virtual universes and equations can reveal. The intensive use of lines and assembled points in these organic architectural structures, ordered between the infinitely large and small, recalls the structure of atoms and gave the project its name.
The film is projected in an "infinty cave", an immersive 3D space that can be dismantled and transported, specially designed and built for this project. It offers total and unique immersion in a virtual 3D environment, providing a true artistic experience. The Atom film can also be shown in stereoscopic or monoscopic mode in cinemas, VR headsets, domes or immersive spaces...
