Autogenesis is a complex system. Nikzad Arabshahi came up with the idea of reconstructing his painting as an ecosystem of artificial life. To design the algorithms, signals from the physical behavior of the artist's hands, joint movements and brainwave frequencies while painting were analyzed.

Nikzad Arabshahi was born in Teheran, Iran. An interdisciplinary artist based in The Hague (Netherlands), he studied art and science at the Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten (Royal Academy of Arts, The Hague, Netherlands), and has been actively working in the fields of fine art, generative art and interdisciplinary art since 2003.
