It is a journey constructed in situ.
In My Belly There's a Forest is a reflective narrative, both realistic and quirky, from a Western woman after several journeys to meet indigenous peoples and their initiation rituals. This story recounts those long moments alone in the depths of the Amazon rainforest, the mangrove swamps of Gabon, and the jungles of Rio.
This wandering creation will reveal both the dreams that passed through this woman, her quirky and sometimes comedic relationship with the Western society she lives in, and the ecological relationship these peoples have with the forest.
This text tells the long metamorphosis of a woman, a Western woman, following the many initiation dreams the forest gave her, but also how this woman becomes animal, tree, and forest.
Dreams here are seen and listened to as a space of realization and intimate revelation, poetically and sometimes quirkily telling us about our relationship with human society and our sensitive natural environment.
The audience is invited to feel themselves as part of the landscape, in a new ecological relationship with themselves and with all forms of life.
The audio-guide is repurposed from museums, allowing you to move freely while receiving the text in gentle intimacy, following a small group while also being free to sit down, contemplate the landscape...
