"It is indeed a form of duel, almost erotic, that Samuel Fasse breathed for this installation in situ, notably during the performance organized on the evening of the opening. The subject was the intelligence of each of the two elements - man and plant - and what one can bring to the other. In Samuel Fasse's piece, which aesthetically refers to three important universes for him - the world of sailing, the world of fashion and the influence of cinema, from David Cronenberg to Matrix - the plants are at the initiative of their own stakes. After being recorded by sensors, shapes were 3D printed and became the supports of the plants taken from the Paillon's surroundings, which had to survive in the highly industrial environment of 109 Grande Halle. At a time when every action, trace or movement of the human being is recorded, at a time when the robot and the avatar will soon merge with the original and that we speak of transhumanism, who is the freest? The plant observes us, learns from man's mistakes and the confrontation is far from over..." Catalog extract, Marie Maertens, curator.
