Fleuve

by Anne-Sophie Emard
2020

Imagined as a fragment of landscape, the work is an assembly of wooden pieces with a square, slightly sloping surface. A bas-relief to be fixed in a segment on the wall of an exhibition room, its sides are made up of wooden pieces completely covered in mirrors that fit together like a construction set.

This river, created from a multitude of shots of different rivers, flows endlessly. In this way, Anne-Sophie Emard reincarnates a powerful element of the landscape and reintroduces it into our imaginary world, decontextualised and in our sole relationship with time.
