With the world's population constantly on the rise, sea levels rising and ecosystems under threat, cities need to find new alternatives.
Against a backdrop of climate migrations, creating new spaces on the oceans to live in permanent floating cities is an idea that has gained ground, moving from ‘utopian status’ to ‘the study and implementation of concrete projects’.

Thinking about floating cities means thinking about new projects for society. These new spaces are blank pages, virgin territories for the imagination and renewal of philosophical, architectural and ecological projects...

In the augmented reality sound work Floating Cities, the spectator is invited to wander around the heart of various imaginary floating cities, inspired by different countries (Taiwan, India, Brazil, Tunisia/Morocco, the United States and France) and made up of architectural elements and devices providing answers to current ecological and societal issues. Armed with a smartphone or tablet, viewers can use an app to trigger animated scenes combined with poetic sound creations. At the end of the tour, they can access a logbook and video interviews on a dedicated website.

2 panels are currently available (Taiwan and Strasbourg) and the complete exhibition will be available from June 2025. The work is available in French, English and Portuguese, and will be available in Arabic from October 2025.

It is printed on eco-responsible fabrics or tarpaulins (the digital file is sent for on-site printing) and can be presented in monumental format or in other homothetic formats to suit your venue. It is available in 6 panels of 2*2.60 m.

This project has been supported by the CNC, DRAC Grand Est, Région Grand Est, Tango & Scan (ACCRO) and IF Export, and has been the subject of several residencies: Villa Formose (Taiwan), Villa Swagatham (India) - MAD Salon + Lab, Centro Cultural Vale Marahnao, with the support of the Consulate General of France in Recife, Villa Albertine (scheduled for February 2025) and with the Alliance française de Bizerte.
