Pierre Giner was quick to recognize the potential of pocket-sized communicating devices. During a trip to Korea, he came across a funny application from Space Illusion Inc. that presented miniature choreographies associated with downloaded songs. He then began a collaboration with the Korean company, modeling his own 3D characters, which he developed with choreographer Christian Rizzo and dressed by top designers (Christian Lacroix, Issey Miyake...) or borrowed from pop culture (Spiderman, Goldorak...). He "re-plays" the nomadic application to create an ambitious multimedia installation called "I Dance".
.
Created in 2005 at the Hyères International Fashion Festival, "I Dance" has become a formidable dancing machine. Pierre Giner invited renowned DJs (Mr Scruff, Patrick Vidal...) and built up a new kind of evening, mixing his animated images live on gigantic screens to the rhythm of the music. "I Dance", which was shown at Nuit Blanche 2007 and at La Géode, has since toured the world, provoking the same amazement from Seoul to Liverpool, from Barce- lone to Bucharest.

Playing on both the randomness of the pre-programmed and the synchrony of the constantly evolving music, this hyper-technological tool, which can be immediately grasped by a novice audience, takes electronic music out of the nightclub ghetto and reinvents the popular ball at the dawn of the 21st century. It is presented here in its most generic version, as the perfect VJing tool that it is.
