Shadow show, video, movement, from 18 months

At the frontiers of puppetry and digital arts, L’ombre de la main invites spectators on a visual, sound and poetic journey. Under the eyes of the spectator, the hand of the manipulator flies over the sensors of the Koto, and builds this astonishing story of images and sounds live. It comes in the form of a series of visual and sound Haikus, without text. The narration is done in touches, gently, and with a moment of madness. A journey through shadows and Japan, where the shadow is not scary, quite the contrary.

Think of Japan and two images bicker; on the one hand, a country with an ancient culture. On the other, a nation at the cutting edge of technology. The shadow of the hand has everyone in agreement! Head to the tatami. We settle there - from 18 months - two leaps and bounds from Christoph Guillermet, who plays a strange instrument, the koto. A classic in Japan, here completely hybridized by technology. Equipped with motion sensors, it becomes under the fingers of its manipulator like an immaterial harp, possessing the ability to paint not only sounds, but also a splendid live animated film. On the screen, the artist's hand is literally deposited in "Japanese" shadow to burst into a myriad of mini visual narratives. So many Haïkus that take our eyes from Mount Fuji to forests populated by animals and even to the sea where the great wave of the painter Hokusaï roars. Classic and high tech, a delightful wonderland that manages to amaze us hands down!

The show is technically autonomous, designed to bring the same quality to theatres, digital festivals, village halls or classes.
