Mirage is an interactive virtual concert by the artist Owlle created for the live platform Twitch, a new music experience for the public. The artist or rather her avatar, performs 4 songs and takes the public in cinematic and spectacular virtual landscapes. Using Twitch chat, the spectators can interact and influence directly the concert : their messages and reactions are integrated live into the concert and transform Owlle’s performance .

This interactive virtual concert is a new concert experience taking from live music, cinema and video games practices. The artist or rather her avatar takes the public into spectacular 3D environments, from the top of a building in Shanghai to the white desert of Siberia. It’s a musical trip created by the artist, the production team and the public: using the Twitch chat, spectators can interact and influence directly the concert : their messages and reactions are integrated live and transform Owlle’s performance.

For the creation of the concert, ALBYON studio used motion capture and facial tracking technologies to rightfully transcribe Owlle’s movement and facial expressions for her avatar’s animation. Then, her live performance was integrated into a real time game engine (UNREAL ENGINE) to create 3D landscapes and make them interactive : landscapes can change and directly reply to the public’s interactions. During the concert, spectators are invited to send messages on the chat to trigger personnalised visual effects. The public is at the heart of the concert and participate to the creation of a unique and collective virtual performance.
