In 1939, faced with the advance of Franco's troops, hundreds of thousands of Spaniards and
Catalans, republicans or not, who cross the border of the Pyrenees to come and take refuge in
France. This desperate and forced retreat, which we call the Retirada Mercedes, Floréal, and Joaquim
experienced it and finally arrived in Tarn et Garonne. Joachim was locked up in the camp
of concentration of Septfonds, which today risks being transformed into an industrial pigsty.
An unbearable symbol for the Spanish exiles and their descendants who remind everyone of the
painful memory of these places.

“A Pigs Weather” is a very tight and subtle sound composition of the different
testimonies collected over six months by Benoit Bories from five people, with one
a situation which echoes the fate of the refugees who haunt the streets of our cities today. We don't
not so easily rebuilds his life elsewhere when the family fabric is torn apart. Benoit Bories proceeds
like an archaeologist, literally and figuratively, revealing little by little and with a lot of
modesty, without urgency, the brokenness of exile, sections of memories that had until then remained in the shadows.
Documentary, play or radio work? “A pig’s Weather”, these are voices,
resonances, sounds of the present, scraps of the past, refrains that remain. To tell the
closer to the resurgence of memory, the polyphony of testimonies.
