As it celebrates its 50th anniversary, Pong continues to fascinate with its simplicity and reinvent itself. Pong variations tells the story of the origins of the game that launched the video game industry in 1972 and invites visitors to play contemporary versions for 2, 3, 4 and 5 players.
So sit back and don't be fooled by the minimalist appearance of Pong and its nostalgic black and white. Get caught up in the game and follow the simple and implacable rule: avoid missing the ball and win the game.

The Atari pong table

Certainly the most faithful game furniture to the 1972 version shown at the time on a CRT. For 2 players, with 6 possible game speeds to adapt to the reaction time of each player. The video game in all its intergenerational aspects.

The touchless Pong table

Simple and intuitive, play touchless Pong on a sensor-loaded table. Up to 4 players

Pentapong

Pentapong is a creation of the contemporary artist Djeff and was designed with Michel Davidov (Atelier de Recherche Interactive, Ensad). This project explores the concept of multi-player based on the architecture of the pentagon. Each player can join a game in progress and take control of the racket in front of him. Pentapong can be played with up to 5 players and when a player leaves the game the automatic mode takes over. In this pentagonal configuration, a new racket rotation function has been implemented, the ball can be directed to aim at a particular opponent.

The display is accompanied by a showcase of 1st generation Pong consoles, a text by Jean Zeid on the origins of Pong and a quiz on the origins of the video game (by QR-code).
