Taking as a starting point a real object: a pavement, the work recreates by its virtualization the history of a revolution that is always and at the same time never taking place. The pavement became the symbol of May 68. “Under the pavement, the beach.”
The pavers were digitally scanned in 3D, this image confronts in a way with the real pavers they document. A recurring motif of the revolution that makes them fly, the real pavement and its virtual image allow us to draw a poetic parallel between the thought revolution induced by scientific discoveries and the revolution of peoples.
We see virtual pavers levitating in a virtual space. Levitation is actuated and modified by the movements of the spectators. This virtual levitation of the pavement irremediably echoes the levitation of the real pavement during a demonstration. The act of revolt seems sanitized by the virtualization of the object.
