Hyper Olympic is a video game simulation of the Olympic Games' premier event - the 100m - based on the 1983 Konami arcade game "Track and field".
The aim was to reproduce the race of an athlete by alternately swinging the joystick from left to right as fast as possible. For the "old gamer" this game refers to a chronic abuse of the famous console controllers. Hyper Olympic seeks to make the joystick experience physical by using a four-contact panel as the player's interface. It must then replace the joystick. The body movements can thus control the four positions (up, right, down, left) of the joystick.
Sports games have existed since the origins of video games. Written by Jean ZEID, retrace, through an exhibition of video games, the modern history of the Olympics in video games.
