The taste of the risk by Benoît Lichté is a transmedia project consisting of a documentary and an immersive virtual reality experience. It takes us to a unique meeting with 3 remarkable athletes and to an immersive discovery of 4 extreme disciplines: Freeride snowboarding and wingsuit flying (Géraldine Fasnacht), big wave surfing and paddleboarding (Amaury Lavernhe) and constant weight apnea (Guillaume Nery). Production : Seppia, FTV, RTS, DV Mobile, with the support of CNC, Région Alsace, Pictanovo.

Testing all limits and risking their life, some athletes develop superhuman performances. They are surfers, climbers, skiers or divers and nothing is too dangerous when it comes to adrenaline. Is everything under control? Or do these practices reveal a deep unconsciousness to the realities of risk? Is the taste of risk such a passion that it makes the athlete rise again after every fall?

This project offers a documenting, interactive and immersive experience on headseats and virtual reality applications. The documentary is one of the first of this kind and will invent a new way of narration for this type of technology.

The project includes 3 different experience levels:
- the documentary that will be broadcasted on TV and in streaming
- the interactive part in the form of the immersive experience
> an “optimised” version on a virtual reality headset (VR headset) accessible for users equipped with Oculus Rift headsets and VR installations
> a “public” version on smartphones or tablet computers via a mobile app that is compatible with VR tools (Cardboard or Homido)
