The Castaways is a 40-minute self-performance for 30 spectators that combines immersive sound and video-mapping. On stage, participants are invited to invoke the absent people in their lives by following a choreographed ritual whose instructions are transmitted to them through headphones.

Rituals are less and less visible in our lives. Yet they have a power over our psyche that is difficult to find elsewhere. Forged over the centuries to feed our collective unconscious, they allow us to access parts of ourselves that would otherwise remain closed. By taking up some elements of these rituals in the form of a participatory show, this experience aims to give back a space where the body and the psyche speak to each other again through movement.
The Castaways allows this reunion through a self-performance: without an actor or dancer present in the space, participants are guided by an inner voice through headphones connected to their phone. This voice tells a different journey to each participant, and each one discovers how the actions of others complement their own. So many small gestures that their group will invent to tell each other, together, that ghosts exist.
