Strata
Find out more
Inspired by David Spriggs' research, the "STRATA" installation is made up of about twenty glass plates engraved with a laser in very high resolution. A system of leds makes it possible to inject light into each of the glass layers. Given the immobility associated with this type of device, attention during the design of the content was focused on giving the illusion of an animation. The light can reveal or hide different layers of a sculpture creating the illusion of a transformation. A character in perpetual mutation appears to materialize in 3 dimensions recalling the ethereal aspect of a luminous hologram. If the spectator puts his hands on those of the sculpture, he triggers a wave of light that passes through it.
