Station Mir contributes to the attractiveness of the Normandy region through a process of collective reflection on artistic creation through support, hosting, production, distribution, research and mediation in a context of structuring a French professional network of digital arts and cultures. This approach is developed around the following four axes: production, distribution, research and mediation.
PRODUCTION
Station Mir supports and advises artists in the construction and development of their aesthetic and professional careers in the form of productions and co-productions. Station Mir commits financial, logistical and technical resources to enable the creation of works with regional, French and international artists or groups of artists.
Station Mir produces and co-produces two to three projects a year and contributes to the shared studio project of the Collectif Manœuvre.
DIFFUSION
Since 2006, Station Mir has been producing the ]interstice[ festival, a meeting of the unclassifiable, to showcase its productions and a selection of French and international works. This approach is correlated with the creation of a national network of digital art production and distribution structures and international partnerships.
Since 2006, the ]interstice[ festival has welcomed 240 artists of 20 nationalities. Since 2012, the average attendance over a two-week period has been 10,000 visitors, with a peak of 21,000 in 2019, and following the covid a return to 20,000 visitors in 2023!
