Edmond Tourriol, comic book translator and writer, is the co-founder of the MAKMA studio. This comic book fan learned to read before the age of five. During his master's degree in social communication in Bordeaux, he created the heavy metal W.O.L.F. fanzine. It is there that he learnt to manage a team or to create a layout. He went on with the foundation of the Climax Comics collective, in which he published about twenty amateur comics. It is on this occasion that he acquired his first rudiments in comic book project management and lettering.
In 2001, with his partner Stephan Boschat, future manager of the company, Edmond Tourriol founded the MAKMA studio. From then on, he translated hundreds of American comics, working on all the heroes that had rocked his childhood: Superman, Batman, Teen Titans, Justice League, X-Men, Spider-Man, Avengers, Fantastic Four, Wolverine, Thor, Iron Man. The highlight of his professional fanboy phase: the French adaptation of the famous crossover between the Avengers and the Justice League. A great admirer of Robert Kirkman (Battle Pope, Invincible), Edmond insisted that his publisher entrust him with a small and completely unknown zombie series... The Walking Dead!
Edmond Tourriol is a comic book writer. After a few fanzines published as an amateur, he piles up the scenarios, with eight episodes of Mix-Man (youth series), five episodes of Zeitnot (manga published on the Shogun label), the successful humoristic series Banc de Touche (pre-published in the newspaper L'Équipe), Zlatan Style, Le Réveil des Bleus, Neymar Style, the Paris Saint-Germain Infinity manga and the Z United webtoon.
His specialization in soccer comics (a dozen books) even earned him an honorary consecration: two selections in the French soccer writers' team (for as many defeats, but hey, it was against Germany). Where will he stop?
