A person

As an artist and director, Julie Vacher stages the processes of transformation at play in human relationships, between humans and non-humans, and between the living and their environments, in an era when the physical and the virtual exist side by side. The scope of her experiments touches on the ecological imaginary, health fantasies and the mythology of work universe. Through poetic writing based on reality, her narratives hybridize naturalism and synthesis, the documentary and the speculative.

Her work takes the form of films, sound and multimedia installations, web and radiophonic creations.

Born in 1989, Julie Vacher lives and works in Aubervilliers (Poush). Graduated from Le Fresnoy-Studio National des Arts Contemporains in 2018 and Fine Arts in Lyon in 2013, her sound and film work has been presented at major contemporary art and cinema events such as the Némo Biennial (FR), Passerelle - Art Center (FR),  FID Marseille (FR), Digital Art Festival Taipei (Taiwan), Palazzo Grassi for Helicotrema (IT), Salon de Montrouge (FR), Biennale Musique en Scène (FR), FRAC Poitou-Charentes (FR), American Documentary Film Festival (California, USA), Untilthen Gallery (FR), Cinéphémère - FIAC Hors-les-murs (FR), SNIFF (Finland).

In 2023, she is a resident at Villa Kujoyama in Japan and at Abbaye de Maubuisson. In parallel, she is working on a film project as part of the "Mondes Nouveaux" program.
