La Onda Productions was founded in 2015 by Thibaud Ader and Baptiste Bertin. After several years at Gaumont and Les Films du Cap for Thibaud, Celluloid Dreams, MUBI and Atelier de production Ludwigsburg-Paris de la Fémis for Baptiste, they decided to set up their own structure to support writers and directors of their generation and produce original, contemporary stories, in both fiction and documentary.
This is illustrated by the two seasons of the web series Loulou for the arte.tv platform (2017-2019), followed this year by the production of a feature-length TV film for Arte based on the character from the series, which won awards at the Festival de la Fiction de La Rochelle for best screenplay, best female performance, and the prix jeune espoir masculin. In the same vein, La Onda Productions also produced the series Brigade Mobile, a faux-documentary fiction web series on arte.tv (2022), as well as the Franco-Iranian series Happiness (2021), whose second season is in development, again for arte.tv.
The company has also produced two acclaimed social documentaries: Just Kids in 2018 (Canal +) and Julie au pays des chasseurs in 2020 (France Télévisions).
