The driving force behind Marie Lienhard's artistic practice is her fascination for the elasticity of our perceptual behaviour. Through fragile equilibriums, she examines realities by questioning the limits of our presumptions due to psychological constructs and by pushing the boundaries of physical laws. Installation, virtual reality, performance, photography and drawing are forms of expression of Marie Lienhard's artistic concepts which are internationally represented in exhibitions and famous art collections (e.g. ZKM Karlsruhe, DE /Espace Multimédia Gantner, FR & FRAC Alsace). In numerous lectures (e.g. Tedx-Talk) and collaborative projects, she also provides insights into her work, which, through floating, flying or falling allegories, inquires into the human desire to overcome the (physical) laws that govern body and mind.  Her works oscillate between physical experience and the suggestive forces released by pictorial means. In a poetic play with our senses, she creates immersive experiences of the seemingly familiar, opening up astonishing new perspectives - entirely in the spirit of the antique understanding of poiesis.
