The annual event entirely dedicated to native podcasts at the Gaîté Lyrique:
In contrast to a radio podcast, which allows you to catch up on a program that you were unable to listen to when it was broadcast, a native podcast is audio content designed, produced and diffused exclusively online, and which anyone can access thanks to an application whenever they want. When you listen to a native podcast, you listen to what you don't hear anywhere else: voices, stories, conversations, which are new ways to narrate the world and capture attention. In opposition to the omnipresence of the image culture, mostly through television and smartphones, the podcast frees us from the dependence on screens and bets on the imagination. Native podcasts are today imposing themselves as a new frontier of narrative, giving birth to a sound culture. The native podcast is a true cultural reality that has opened up a whole new world of possibilities for storytelling and sound conversation. The idea of the Paris Podcast Festival is to bring the pleasure of this new listening culture to a wide audience.
The festival's missions:
↳ to accompany the structuring of the podcast ecosystem: organization of dedicated professional days, and valorization of the status of author of podcast creators (debates, masterclass, meetings, workshops...).
↳ contribute to the democratization of the use by celebrating the podcast in all its forms within an eclectic public programming (public recordings, previews...)
↳ rewarding creation through a major official competition (a jury of professionals, a jury of children, 9 prizes, 27 000€ paid to the authors)
In 2022, the Paris Podcast Festival offered 4 days of festival, with 80 programming times, 300 speakers, with 775 applications for its competition and welcomed nearly 8,000 visitors.
