Webspider is an independent film and new media production company founded at the end of 2016 by Louise Genis-Cosserat. Louise started her career in post-production. She also worked as an associate producer for Lizland Films, a TV drama production company with which she is still associated.
At Webspider Productions we believe that the talent of an author is as important as the relevance of the format. Webspider is not afraid to tackle sensitive subjects and to popularise them through original narratives that adapt to the new uses of different audiences. One of Webspider's first actions was to enter into co-production with Les Films d'ici, Lunanime Productions and Juliette Films to produce Denis Do's Funan, an animated feature film about the Khmer revolution in Cambodia. Then, we joined as associate producer the Zero Impunity project, a transmedia activist project, which has many variations, including an animated feature film. We supported Heis, a feature film by Anais Volpé. The support we gave to this totally self-produced project allowed us to better understand the non-institutional financing and distribution circuits and to affirm Webspider's desire to make itself known to young talented authors. Our project VR Griffon, written by Romain Bonnin, received the best pitch and project award at Stereopsia 2017 and the INA Expert award at the MIFA pitch in Annecy, as well as the support of the Hauts de France region and the CNC. Walled-In Berlin, by Joffrey Lavigne and Marguerite Boutrolle, a docu-drama on Instagram set in 1960s Berlin, attracted the interest of many media including France Culture and RFI, who praised the relevance of the format and the plot to tell this historical episode. Our latest creation: Les Dossiers de Curiosités Juridiques, a mini-series that popularises the Law through the most bizarre cases heard in French courts, has totalled over 300k views on Twitter. We are currently developing several fiction projects, an 8x52' historical series and a sports unit, as well as an audio fiction in binaural sound on sea rescue.
