These referencing criteria are intended for French digital creation professionals who wish to reference themselves or their creations on IFdigital. It is important to consult them before creating a sheet.

The showcase of French digital creation
IFdigital supports French digital creation professionals with in international development. Through a clear and precise presentation of creations, professionals and organisations (artists, producers, distributors, events, training schools, etc.), it aims to become the listing programming tool for the French cultural network abroad and cultural professionals in the digital creation sector.
You are a French professional active in the digital creation field, and you want to develop international collaborations and promote your creations abroad ? Get referenced on the website now !
To reference yourself or your creations on the site, you must create an account, then edit your Creation or Professional files. The files are then submitted to the Institut français for approval.
Please take note of the listing criteria beforehand.
Creation sheets
The Creation sheets on the site present current French digital creations that are intended for international distribution.
Each creation is presented in the form of a summary sheet describing the experience for audiences and specifying any technical conditions, distribution channels and the terms of use. Additional resources and media (e.g. press kit, information sheet, video presentation, etc.) can be added.
This panorama of French digital creation is a tool made available to cultural professionals who wish to discover the what France has to offer and programme it.
A multi-criteria search engine enables precise searches among the creations referenced on the site. The creations can also be promoted within the Selections offered by the Institut français.
The quality of the information provided, in French and English, and the shared resources (photos, videos, technical data, etc.) make it easier to understand and programme the works and to export expertise internationally.
1. French digital creations from the following sectors:
- video games
- web creation
- immersive experiences
- innovative books
- digital arts
- cultural outreach and education
- sound creation*
2. French productions or coproductions*
3. Creations intended for international distribution or adaptation
4. Creations already produced or in the process of being produced
5. Brand advertisements or orders, content that is not intended by authors or that is not related to cultural or artistic fields will not be published
6. Projects produced by students or schools are eligible if they have been awarded a prize at a festival(s)
*Are considered as French productions or coproductions : productions or coproductions carried out by structures established in France (at least 50%).
*Regarding podcasts: only native fiction / documentary / narrative experience podcasts are eligible. Talk shows and news programs will not be published on the site.
The selection criteria used for publication are:
- the capacity of the creation to be distributed or adapted internationally
- the artistic quality and originality of the creation
- the quality of the direction and production
- the aesthetic qualities of graphic and sound universe
- the creation’s ability to reach a wide audience in France and internationally
- the capacity of the creation to represent France in this field, its possible link with French or world heritage, the promotion of French technologies and expertise
- creations produced less than five years ago will be favoured for self-produced creations or creations in the process of being produced, special attention will be paid to festival selections
Files are subject to approval by the Institut français, who may consult external partners to assist in this process. Notification will be sent to the applicant at the end of the approval process.
Professional sheets
The Professional sheets on the website list the active professionals in French digital creation: creators, artists, studios, publishers, distributors, events, training, financing, institutions, media, etc. This directory is a tool made available to cultural professionals and professionals from the French cultural network abroad, in order to promote French expertise, facilitate networking and collaboration, and provide an overview of this ecosystem.
A multi-criteria search engine allows for precise searches among the professionals referenced on the site. They are also highlighted in the Selections.

* By French, we mean for a person : a person who has French nationality, or has been a resident for at least 5 years ; for an organisation : an organisation established in France.
The selection criteria used for publication are:
- the ability of the professional to operate internationally
- the level of expertise and professional recognition (recognised professional with proven experience)
- the ability of the professional to represent France in their field, their possible link with French or world heritage, the promotion of French technologies and expertise.
Files are subject to approval by the Institut français, who may consult external partners to assist in this process. Notification will be sent to the applicant at the end of the approval process.
¹For digital arts, the Institut français relies in particular on the expertise of HACNUM - the National Network of Hybrid Arts and Digital Cultures, an association whose purpose is to structure, organize and develop hybrid arts ecosystems and digital cultures in France.
