Audio-phonographic soundscapes

A project under construction
Exploring a landscape sensitive to the interplay of gaze and listening, between concordances and perceptual discordances.
A duet project with a sound recordist – sound landscaper, and a photographer.

Challenges

  • Writing landscapes by blending image and sound in a contrapuntal approach, with two voices.
  • Interacting with audiovisual materials collected in situ to create a polyphonic composition.
  • Navigating between convergences and divergences, playing within the interstices of similarity and dissimilarity.
  • Developing cross-disciplinary scripts, singular interpretations, and unique representations that give rise to new landscapes, between the real and the imaginary, through the dynamics of perceptual interplay in duet.

Shaping a landscape

  • Seeking benchmarks, singularities, identities, resonances, and universalities through media representations, embracing the specificities inherent to photography and sound recording.
  • Engaging with the landscape through listening as much as through observing, and vice versa.
  • Structuring collected materials, organizing cross-disciplinary content, and crafting multimedia narratives.

Lines of work

  • Selecting a territory and defining one or more spacetime contexts.
  • Recording and photographing shared landscapes collaboratively.
  • Writing, composing, confronting, and intertwining media through exhibitions, phono-photographic creations, and installations.
  • Conducting workshops with residents, children, socio-cultural organizations, schools, and more.
