PROJECT PRINCIPLES

Geocaching is an outdoor activity in which participants use their GPS or smartphones to find "hideouts" scattered around a given area, either in nature or in the city. The idea behind the concept is to search for and complete points along the way to the final hideout, synonymous with victory.

Thanks to augmented reality, the clues are revealed and come to life, revealing one by one which cult film is hidden at the heart of these cabinets of curiosities. The dedicated app, which can be downloaded for free from the Apple Store and Play Store, lets you scan each poster, revealing the clues and film names in augmented reality. Giving the answers to the treasure hunt, it provides new clues for users to find the next hiding place. As an added bonus, each resolution is accompanied by a short anecdote relating to the 7th art. At the end of the trail, a password is given to the public, allowing them to retrieve their treasure: an original coloring page created by Aurélien Jeanney!

THE POSTERS

Seven major themes make up the itinerary. First, the animated films that made us grow up (Ratatouille, Kirikou, My neighbor Totoro and Aladdin), then the blockbusters of the 80s (Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, E.T. and Ghostbusters), followed by films about cinema (The Artist, Panic on Florida Beach, The Fablemans and La cité de la peur).

Then there are comedies (Les Visiteurs, Les Bronzés font du ski, Modern Times and Asterix et Obélix : Mission Cléôpatre), followed by the great literary sagas adapted to film (Batman, Harry Potter, Hunger Games and V for Vendetta), then the series adapted from films or video games (Stranger things, The Last of us, Fargo and Wednesday) and finally the musicals (Moulin Rouge, La la Land, Grease and Mary Poppins).

All the objects and set elements are winks and references to the cinematic masterpieces hidden behind each poster. And with each discovery comes a new clue to the next hiding place!
