We live in a paradoxical world. Every day, we have an opportunity to change the way we live and preserve the well-being of our planet and ourselves, yet we choose to remain stagnant. As humans, we are at the core of the problem, but we are also the solution.
Skills and sensibilities are required if human beings are to avert the catastrophes of climate change that scientists predict and the global socio-economic wars affecting the Earth and its populations. Skills like radical empathy, deep listening, and a sense of self-as-community are all central to art as a way of knowledge.
Art generates new lived expressions. How must art evolve in response to problems that are both human and non-human, both local and global? How can we reexamine the ways we make art—not only the materials we use but also how we conceive a story? The artists in this project provoke new relationships with a natural world beyond our physical reach, engaging with culturally diverse understandings of our environment.
A fascinating hybrid future unfolds before us—one where distinctions fade, leading to joyful, reflective, and speculative interactions with a vast and interconnected world. The artworks and their interactive approaches illuminate the various links between our environment, humans, and machines, guiding us toward speculative futures beyond our imagination.
By using augmented reality (AR) technology, accessible via smartphones, visitors can immerse themselves in interactive art pieces spread across the chosen space. This experience allows them not only to admire the mesmerizing works but also to share their encounters through photos and videos on their social networks.
We are embarking on a lyrical journey anchored in scientific discoveries, blurring the line between fiction and reality—a web of interwoven stories about deeply personal impacts on our environment and humankind, representing diverse perspectives: local and global, Western scientific and Indigenous, human and non-human.
