Inspired by Andersen's fairy tale, The Shadow, musician Benoit Carré a.k.a SKYGGE (shadow in Danish) offers an immersive concert mixing his compositions with artificial intelligence (A.I.) technologies and the visual creation of the digital art collective OYE. The Ballad of the Shadow is an invitation to follow the melancholic and poetic wanderings of a Shadow through the imaginary city of Melancholia, the name of SKYGGE's album released in parallel. The live is coproduced by Le Centre des Arts d'Enghien-les-Bains and Puppet Master music label.

Ballad Of The Shadow is a creation at the crossroads of the pop-experimental and electro music concert characteristic of the universe of Benoit Carré a.k.a SKYGGE, and of digital art with video evolutions conceived by the digital art collective OYE and shadow projections orchestrated by the light designer Jonathan Toussaint. The show plunges spectators of all ages into the melancholic and poetic universe of a shadow that wanders in a strange city, Melancholia.
Inspired by the tale of Andersen's Shadow, the main theme of SKYGGE's creative work with artificial intelligence (A.I.) tools that he has been developing since 2015, The Ballad of the Shadow blends the story of the tale with the songs performed by SKYGGE with his accomplice Lozange.
During the live show, SKYGGE introduces the audience to its compositional practice with its playful and pop song Daisy.
The two musicians on stage are accompanied backstage by a member of OYE, a lighting engineer and/or a sound engineer.
The set is deliberately very light, requiring an HD video projector and a projection screen in addition to the instruments of SKYGGE (2 synths, 1 guitar) and Lozange (Push Ableton).
