Genesis of the project
The Olímpicos project was commissioned by the Alliances Françaises of Brazil and led by Aurélien Jeanney. It received support from the French Embassy in Brazil and Air France. It's a set of 8 posters representing Olympic and Paralympic sports. Each poster comes to life thanks to the "Maison Tangible" augmented reality mobile app, available free of charge on iOS and Android, anywhere in the world.
This project was born from the desire of :
➜ build a graphic bridge between the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 and those in Paris in 2024,
➜ illustrate sports less represented in the Olympic world, new or handisport,
➜ pay tribute to Brazilian and French graphic culture.
It was nurtured by a creative residency at the Villa Tijuca in Rio de Janeiro in late 2023, at the invitation of the Alliance Française.
In practice
The project exists in two versions:
➜ focus on French athletes,
➜ focus on Brazilian athletes.
Each of the two declinations features eight posters, which can be displayed as a fresco or presented individually. In this way, the exhibition can be deployed in private locations (modular depending on the space) or in public spaces (very large-format posters or tarpaulins).
Each poster is available in 50x70cm or 100x140cm format, and can be reduced or enlarged in various proportional scales, delivered as digital files to be printed in portrait format.
