The installation IN URBE, in its installed version as well as in the VR one, proposes the discovery of a world that’s usually hidden from the sight. In it, we will get through Paris’ gears and multiple undergrounds.
IN URBE
Find out more
In his installation IN URBE, the artist Ugo Arsac got interested by the city undergrounds. Below our feet there’s actually a real maze, a complex world hard to guess from the surface, it is made by sewer networks, underground lines, crypts and electrical circuits.
As an explorer, he paced Paris’ undergrounds for days and scanned the places he visited in order to create a 3D map, a puzzle of those different spaces. The visitor is invited to explore this unaccessible place and to get immersed in a virtual world through a VR headset. (The installation also exist in a « sculptural » version that comprehends a marble seat, a game-controller and 360° video-mapping in real time).
