Welcome to the Paleolithic.
The global project Lady Sapiens is the result of a unique partnership between a producer, Little Big Story, a broadcaster, France Télévisions, and a video game publisher: Ubisoft. For the documentary, the teams filmed inside the game Far Cry Primal. This game was designed with the advice of scientists and historians, including Jacques Malaterre, co-author of the film. The VR experience is a co-production between Little Big Story, Little Big Story Lab, Ubisoft and France Télévisions using the game's assets. The Far Cry license is one of the most successful video games, selling more than 38 million units worldwide (Ubisoft data).
The whole Lady Sapiens project is placed under the scientific guidance of prehistorian Sophie Archambault de Beaune. Based on the scientific investigation of the film, Lady Sapiens, the experience offers an immersion in the daily life of a Paleolithic woman.
Sophie de Beaune is a culturalist prehistorian who conducts her research at the CNRS Arscan laboratory (Archaeology and Science of Antiquity) at the University of Nanterre. She is a member of the Prehistoric Ethnology team and teaches prehistory at Lyon 3 Jean Moulin University.
