(Un)related to God is a protean project that can be declined in 3 parts: augmented reality exhibition available in a dematerialized version, physical and digital publishing objects, stage lives and Twich. This creative ping pong whose universe evolves through the performances, is the result of the collaboration of the musician and producer Apollo Noir and the director and designer Thomas Pons. (Un)related to God tells of the relationship to God through the repetitive movements of small characters drawn in black. These beings are a metaphor of Men as the makers of their own belief.

This project can be declined in 3 parts: augmented reality exhibition, physical and digital publishing objects, stage lives and Twich. The exhibition is available in a dematerialized version and can thus be easily distributed throughout the world.

Apollo Noir and Thomas Pons started their collaboration around a video dedicated to the track: (Un)related to God which is originally the title of the second track of Apollo Noir's second album : Chaos ID. From these first exchanges between music, cinema and illustration was born a true creative symbiosis and a will to express this collaboration as an evolving stage experience.

Thomas works from animated alphabets of characters, stones and particles drawn frame by frame. Once linked to the music of Apollo Noir, they allow the creation of a combinatorial alchemy: Science and Religious detach themselves from it, opening up different narrative wefts. How they cohabit, fight and feed each other; then, how they feed society, the masses and individuals in their daily acts.

the loop as a common form.

In music as in animation, our preferred form of expression is the loop: it echoes the cycles of nature and refers to our sometimes absurd routines from which it's very difficult to escape. Apollo Noir manipulates rhythmic and melodic loops with its synthesizers as a material compositional constraint.

Thomas Pons draws situations which have as a constraint to have the same drawing of arrival and departure, with as many possible animated variations in the way of joining this image of reference.

For this project, alphabets of sounds and animated alphabets of characters, stones and particles are created. The characters transport, sculpt and build beliefs from the stones. The dust of these stones disintegrates into elementary particles which themselves agglomerate to give birth to new Men and new stones. Once this first loop is completed, these three entities that are the Men, the stones and the particles, start other strange cycles where the particles become gigantic, the stones come to life and the Men change into monumental sculptures, the whole guided by the rhythm and the sounds of Apollo Noir.
