This sound and visual essay offers a visual and plastic exploration of Iga Vandenhove's sound piece "Las voces del Madidi", in which the voices of Bolivia's Madidi National Park mingle with the patrols of forest rangers. The video proposes a visual grammar of overlays playing on transparency, textures and colors. Creating unprecedented associations, these interwoven strata of reality explore alternative perspectives in a world in crisis.

This video essay is the result of a collaboration between Knorke Leaf (muralist, Bolivia) and Iga Vandenhove (multidisciplinary artist, France) in autumn 2022.
It offers a visual and plastic exploration of Iga's sound piece "Las voces del Madidi", in which the voices of Madidi National Park (Bolivia) mingle with the patrols of forest rangers. Between bumblebees and bees, frogs singing, imitations of caimans and birds... The human, animal and technological worlds merge.
The video proposes a visual grammar of overlays playing on transparency, textures and colors. Creating unprecedented associations, these interwoven strata of reality explore alternative perspectives in a world in crisis.
Technical specifications/advice for use :
Mp4 video to be projected (could be on a white wall but also on other kind of wall. Once it was projected in Bolivia on an exterior wall from which some vegetation (cactuses) was hanging. At some point it was hard to tell if the cactuses were part of the video or not which gave a nice 3D o 4D effect and added to the purpose of the art piece (generating confusion). The sound is included in the video (better if broadcast in stereo).
