Followed by a television crew that is filming her life as a gendarme, Audrey Langlois is meant to join the gendarmerie’s research unit in Auvergne, just as the region is reeling from a double murder. Unfortunately, she is actually transferred to the mobile squad, a local service run from a campervan by jovial warrant officer Lily Frédéric. A prospect that doesn’t exactly fill her with joy...
Tasked with ensuring law and order, Marie Lelong and Louise Massin, who play the two female cops, had already appeared together in Loulou, a series co-directed by Fanny Sidney, which takes a wry look at the vagaries of a delusional 30-year-old’s pregnancy. Brigade Mobile is Fanny Sidney’s first solo work: "After 'Loulou', I wanted to work with these two actresses again. And also to come back and film in Auvergne, a region that I know well and where I enjoy meeting up with people who inspire me. I don't see ‘Mobile Squad' as a series about gendarmes: the main idea was to talk about these administrative structures that are in decline, or even disappearing from our regions, through this unit that is being wound down."
