A person

Nicolas Tourte was born in Charleville-Mézières, he lives in Lille, France and works everywhere. After an ESAD course in Valenciennes, he focuses on the notion of cycle and maintains a strong bond with architecture. The life sciences guide him in his research, he questions with humor and derision the place of man in the universe. In the digital world it oscillates between zero and one. In this in-between, this interstice, he rejoices over his inventive discoveries.

In 2015 he resides in Rome and imagines the monumental video installation Lupanar tested during the festival Interstice #10 in Caen.

In 2016, Stratigraphic views, a series of photomontages related to the war in the trenches, is the subject of the personal exhibition Twilight State, at the Museum de la Piscine, Roubaix.

In 2017, Intermediate Visions, an exhibition at the Château d'Hardelot ressembles a retrospective.

In 2018, he was invited to the Gran Taipei / Taiwan Biennale and exhibited his research on natural phenomena in Katowice (Poland) during the COP 24, Cooldown, with the French Alliance.

HYAM chooses Nicolas Tourte in 2019 to inaugurate its first carte blanche to a French artist on Hydra Island. He participates in the exhibition Plein vent! (commissioned by COAL) at the Halle aux sucres in Dunkirk.

In 2020, he designed Éllipses, commissioned by the Route des Villes d'Eaux du Massif Central, presented at Vidéoformes in Clermont Ferrand.

In 2021, a corpus of his drawings integrates the collections of the FRAC Picardie.
