In 2023, the first geodesic digital art festival in Paris, Sous dôme#1, was born.
Since then, the Cité des sciences et de l'industrie, Jeremy Oury and 36 degrés have renewed the experience every year, once again immersing the general public and professionals in immersive works, while inviting them to take part in reflections on digital creation and its challenges. The festival offers a diversified, open, mixed and inclusive curation, mixing screenings by international artists with French creations proposed by the carte blanche and a selection from a hundred or so films received in response to a call for projects. The festival is rounded out by professional meetings, including conferences, masterclasses, networking events and creative workshops for students.
Immersive cinema is on a roll these days, and the dome is one of its most interesting assets. In its role as producer, 36°, along with artist Jeremy Oury as technical and artistic consultant, is supporting a growing number of initiatives to disseminate dome projects. This standardized format makes it easier to disseminate on a large scale, thanks to our extensive network of planetariums and geodesic domes.
