Revealed at Transmusicales Festival, Blutch in weightlessness between electronica, techno and house is accompanied in Live by Romain Navier with an innovative creation integrating Blutch in his visuals, playing to make him appear and disappear behind the tulle screen.
A beautiful walk between Breton landscape and 3D creation, with its moments of grace, its storms and lulls in which electronic music merges with beautiful strings, harpsichords...
In this live performance, Blutch presents his album tribute to French Brittany "Terre Promise", therefore it is only natural that Romain Navier accompany him to create a work mixing videos shot in Brittany with 3D creation and motion design.
It is a walk in Brittany, with its moments of grace, its storms and lulls that transports us during 1h, sublimated by the music of Blutch full of emotion. His careful production work with a thousand textures, sharpening over the years a singular trademark, explores a whole palette of electronic music: contemporary beats discos, abstract hip-hop, soulful house. His compositions, often melancholic, bring him closer to artists like Rone, Four Tet or Bicep.
A long study was carried out during many residencies to design the scenography. After various experiments and taking into account the practicality in order to make the project easy to install in room and in a festival, Romain Navier realized an innovative creation from a tulle screen and a video projector to integrate Blutch in his visuals, playing to make him appear and disappear behind the screen.
Work is also done on the lights that accompany the video, creating paintings and playing to project the shadow of Blutch on the tulle in front of him as well as on the screen cover.
This live AV performance has a strong potential of diffusion, reaches a wide audience thanks to the superb video/light creation, and is easy to accommodate with only two people on the road.
