Arnaud Laffond was born in 1986, lives and works in Lyon.
After his studies in communication in Paris, he embarked on research as a digital plastic artist, always more and more diluting his experiments between digital and analog.
Through his works, he questions the viewer on the increasingly dominant place of digital in his daily life, either by trivializing it or highlighting it as a subject.
Always in search of new fields of experimentation, he develops an attraction for interactive installations placing the spectator as actor for a better understanding.
Increasingly aware of the role that the artist can take on, Arnaud Laffond chooses contemporary subjects such as ecological but also societal questions. He uses his art to question the viewer about the world in which he evolves. Moving from video to interactive, immersive, even sound installation, he is also working on future virtual reality / serious gaming projects. These will be developed during his residency EOFA - Embassy of Foreign Artists with the Biotech Geneva campus specializing in neurosciences.
His works are exhibited and presented in multiple festivals and places in France and abroad, among which : Mirage Festival (Lyon, France), Ars Electronica (Linz, Autriche), Unesco Media Art Festival (Gwangju, Corée du sud), Novembre Numérique (Istanbul, Turquie), Videoformes (Clermont Ferrand, France), etc.
For his work Stay Home, he was nominated in the category of best experimental work by SCAM - Société Civile des Auteurs Multimédia in 2021.
