Octobre Numérique is a label and festival initiated by the e Communauté d’agglomération d’Arles Crau Camargue Montagnette (ACCM) that highlights the actors and new digital practices in the fields of creation and technological innovation, offering the public a strong cultural animation on the territory in the fall.
Since 2021, the festival has been programmed and organized by Faire Monde, a non-profit association bringing together cultural and technological actors such as Actes Sud, the Chroniques Biennial, Extramentale and Fabbula.
As a laboratory for the latest trends at the crossroads of art and video games, Faire Monde's goal is to connect the best global players in the field with the Arles ecosystem. Inhabited by the idea of highlighting new perceptions of reality, the association places the virtual in an unusual context: that of a prefiguration space to imagine, manufacture and make viable an inclusive, sustainable and participative virtual community.
The technological backbone of the festival is real-time 3D, a technology for creating worlds and interactions inherited from video games that nourishes the development of new and transdisciplinary artistic practices.
