Its purpose is to open the space to discussion about new forms of artistic expression and virtual/mixed reality, and to different hybridizations and emergences.
Recto VRso originated in the town of Laval. It takes place at the same time as the Laval Virtual Show, bringing the town to life for a week with a blend of innovation and artistic fervour.
It is composed of two complementary parts:
-The Art&VR Gallery hosts the official Recto VRso exhibition presenting fifteen artworks selected during an international call for projects. One of the artists exhibiting at the Art&VR Gallery will also be honoured by a Laval Virtual Award in the Art&VR category at the prize-giving ceremony held at Laval Virtual.
- An art exhibition itinerary n the old part of Laval town promotes the artistic diversity of the sector by inviting well-known artists, students, researchers and collectives to take over various venues. This dynamic enables a more liberal exhibition of nascent projects, projects following a specific theme and projects hybridizing a variety of practices and leaving room for artistic exploration. This itinerary also endeavours to foster partnerships, by offering an opportunity for structures (academic, artistic and industrial) to take over a venue, and/or put forward events in line with the values of Recto VRso.
This festival is the result of more than ten years of research and creation by the artist Judith Guez, in the field of virtual and mixed reality.
