Once again this year, French creations in virtual reality have been recognized at numerous international festivals.

At the Cannes Film Festival, the work Noire won the Best Immersive Work award in the Cannes Immersive section. At the Venice Film Festival, Ito Meikyu by Boris Labbé received the Grand Prix of the Venice Immersive section, while Oto’s Planet by François Gwenaël won the Special Jury Prize, and Impulse: Playing with Reality by Barry Gene Murphy and May Abdalla was honored with an Achievement Prize.

The NewImages Festival awarded moi fauve with the Interactive Prize. Meanwhile, Empereur by Marion Burger and Ilan J. Cohen received the XR Immersive Prize at the Kaohsiung Film Festival.

At the Stereopsia European XR Award, several French works stood out: Flow was named Best Animation, Mamie Lou by Isabelle Andreani won the Best User Experience award, while Oto’s Planet by Gwenaël François was recognized for Best Visual Experience. JFK Memento by Chloé Rochereuil won the Best Heritage Experience award, and Maya: The Birth of a Superhero by Poulomi Basu and CJ Clarke was hailed as the Best Creative Experience.

At the International Film Festival of Geneva, Eternal Walkers by Hayoun Kwon won the Best Immersive Experience award, while Oto’s Planet by Gwenaël François received the prestigious Reflet d’Or for Best Immersive Experience.

Finally, at Beyond The Frame in Japan, Gaudi, l’atelier du divin was awarded for its immersive experience, and Champ de Bataille by François Vautier was also honored.
