After having worked as a mediator at the Gaîté Lyrique, a center for digital art and contemporary music in Paris, between 2013 and 2020, Laura Cattabianchi continues her activity as a freelancer by alternating artistic creation, workshops for children and adults, and professional training.
Laura Cattabianchi designs workshops that promote digital content with the aim of placing it in a broader context, by establishing links with other types of content and media. She proposes to question and investigate the digital using paper in order to apprehend it through a plastic approach and to develop a critical eye in a playful and creative way.
Laura collaborates with several educational, cultural and medico-social establishments between France and Italy and she shares her experience as a multimedia mediator through professional training courses for librarians, university students and professionals in the education sector.
Passionate about stories, she is interested in the narrative potential of sounds created through the manipulation of different types of papers and materials. She develops this artistic research, which takes the name of Livre-à-sons, with the creation of tactile sound books, experimentation with children and adults during workshops and the design of mediation tools.
